TheEgg App uses user authentication combined with role-based access control to define permissions. Surrogates, Intended Parents, and Read-Only Guests each have different access levels and capabilities based on their roles. The backend enforces these permissions through middleware and validation functions to ensure users can only perform actions allowed by their role.

TheEgg App's sharing feature enables seamless and secure collaboration tailored to each user’s role. Intended Parents have full sharing privileges and can invite others to join the workspace, while Surrogates collaborate closely with specific role-based capabilities. Read-Only Guests can access shared data for viewing but cannot make any changes, ensuring data integrity.
The sharing functionality leverages browser-native capabilities, allowing users to easily share resources such as surrogacy guides via built-in sharing dialogs or clipboard copy as a fallback.
This thoughtful design promotes collaboration while respecting privacy and security needs at every stage of the surrogacy journey.
